Seismic Changes in the Plastics Market

The plastics recycling sector has always been a volatile place. Our sector experiences more frequent and greater price swings than any other in the recycling industry, and this can be difficult for many to understand, and even harder for financially constrained companies to bear.

The last quarter has seen the scrap plastic market experience its worst down turn since Q4 2008, and unfortunately it would appear that we have not yet arrived at the bottom. This has been driven by our two old and reliable friends: Oil and China.
