Funding support to provide recycling services

Whether you need extra staff to expand your collection round, help with selling your service to more businesses, additional collection sacks or bins to provide services to more customers or a combination of measures, WRAP’s new funding support scheme may be able to help your organisation.

envaThe scheme is aimed at helping to develop and expand recycling services to small and medium- sized enterprises.

If you are a new or existing provider of recycling services based in the UK, and you want to develop or expand your recycling service to new and additional areas, customers or materials then you are eligible to apply to the funding support scheme.

Applications are welcomed from organisations in the public, private and community sectors. Successful applicants will be required to follow good practice guidance that have been developed by WRAP following a series of feasibility and demonstration trails.

Schemes could cover, but are not limited to, the following types:

  • multi material collection services

  • glass collection services for SMEs in the hospitality sector

  • collections of food waste from hospitality and retail businesses and smaller food processors

  • recycling services for SMEs in the construction, refurbishment and demolition sector.

The funding will be available to support a range of activities and elements, for example:

  • staff resources

  • sales and marketing activities

  • collection infrastructure

WRAP will provide up to £67,000 (excluding VAT) although more may be considered in exceptional circumstances, and all support needs to be 50% match funded in cash or in kind.
