A Volatile Time In Plastics Recycling

The plastic recycling market is currently experiencing a period of volatility and instability the likes of which has not been experienced in recent memory.

Oil, from which virgin plastic is mostly derived has fallen from 100USD / barrel in June 2014, to a low of 28USD/barrel in January 2016 but has since rebounded to 50USD/ barrel.  These wild swings have had a direct influence upon both the price of, and demand for, scrap plastic materials.
