“No season of goodwill between MRF and source separated proponents!”

By the time you read this, Christmas will have been and gone and I hope it was an enjoyable time for you all. For all in the waste industry, this period is characterised by long hours, miserable weather, dark mornings and darker nights and extra volumes as bins are bursting with a plethora of papers, plastics and much more (not all welcome items of course!)

This segues perfectly into our first discussion point – at the tail end of my previous column I touched on the CEPI’s very public critique of mixed collections and it was another battle cry in the metaphorical war of source separated v mixed collections! Due to deadline requirements, the volley back from mixed collection advocates arrived too late for my previous prose, but it was certain that retaliation would come and we were not to be disappointed!
