Update on Waste Management in the Republic of Ireland

The Republic of Ireland has a minority Government for the first time since the 
founding of the State. The most interesting outcome of last February’s general election is that the opposition can now pass legislation without the support of the Government.

We now have a minority Government and a majority opposition, which is effectively a second Government. That scenario has had an impact on the impending Pay By Weight regulations for household waste collection that are due to come into full effect on 1st July 2016.
